The death toll, after that of a nightclub collapsed in the Dominican Republic, has now risen to 98.
The BBC reports that more than 150 people were injured when the roof of the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo collapsed just after midnight (local time). More than 300 people were in the nightclub, where local singer, Rubby Pérez was performing.
One of the victims is the 51-year-old athlete, Octavio Dotel, who won the World Series Baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals in 2011. He died on the way to hospital after being pulled out from under the rubble.
According to the BBC, 400 rescuers are still on the scene searching for survivors.
It is still unknown what led to the collapse.
Meanwhile, President Luis Abinader has declared a three-day period of mourning.
