Standard Islamic Tradition and the Qur’an tell that Muhammed was taken on the back of a burqa from Mecca to Al-Aqsa in Jerusalem, but this simply cannot be because, in the time of Muhammed, there was no mosque in Jerusalem. There was an existing mosque in his time called Al Aqsa which was actually in the area of Al’ Juranah about 30 kilometers from Mecca. By camel, this would only have been a couple of hours’ journey.
