Search for missing Ah-Tow enters third week
Despite a massive ransom demand and Hawks detectives working around the clock, there is still no trace of Gqeberha businessman Neal Ah-Tow.
Ah-Tow, 59, was kidnapped in front of his business premises, Neal’s Fish and Chips in Sidwell 17 days ago.
The five men involved in the kidnapping drove a silver Chev Cruz and abducted him shortly before he opened his shop.
Four days after the kidnapping, a massive ransom demand of 1.4 million US dollars was made in exchange for his safe return.
At the time of the demand, Ah-Tow was able to enquire about his high blood pressure medication.
Because the ransom demand was in dollars, police started to investigate the possibility that the kidnappers could be foreign nationals.
Since the initial ransom demand, his kidnappers have seemingly not reached out again.
On Monday, Hawks spokesperson Captain Yolisa Mgolodela said the search for Ah-Tow spans countrywide and that there has been no change in the ransom demand.
