SAPS make big dagga bust at border post

Border police have arrested a 43-year-old truck driver for allegedly trying to smuggle a large quantity of dagga into the country
Police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, said the bust was made on Thursday by members at the Oschoek Port of Entry.
He said 150 kilograms of dagga was seized which has an estimated street value of R630, 840.
Mdhluli says members found the dagga hidden under a load of timber
“The truck, with registration number plates from the Kingdom of Eswatini, was confiscated together with the seized dagga, was confiscated for further investigation,” he said.
The arrest was welcomed by Mpumalanga police commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela.
“The continuous arrests and successes witnessed at the borders prove that indeed the members are working with diligence. They are doing excellent work on a daily basis,” said General Manamela.
