A woman was seriously injured with a panga during an attack in her home in Bloemfontein yesterday morning.
FREE STATE. – Elsa van der Walt (55) was seriously injured during an attack at her residence in Ehrlich Park, Bloemfontein, at around 03:00 yesterday morning.
According to Capt. Loraine Earle investigated the injured woman’s husband outside the home because their dogs were restless. When he went outside, he heard his wife inside the house screaming for help.
Elsa van der Walt was allegedly attacked with a panga in the house by an unknown suspect, disguised with a balaclava. During the brawl, the suspect was reportedly struck over the head. Earle said the suspect fled the scene without a shirt, wearing black pants and a wound to his head.
Elsa van der Walt was taken to a hospital with serious injuries all over her body.
Police are searching for three unidentified men who can assist with the investigation of the attempted murder case that was registered.
