ARMED ROBBERY HELDER ALL DAY IN OUR HOUSE:

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 14, 2023 AT 12 PM:

This was probably one of the most traumatic events in our lives.

On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, on my daughter Charissa Trystsman’s birthday, a terrible thing happened.

My wife Melanie Nel and my parents-in-law, Danie and Petra van Schalkwyk, were raided into our house just after 12 pm in broad daylight and attacked by 4 armed men.

The robbers stopped them with guns and my wife Melanie was very seriously assaulted and injured in the robbery.

The robbers first robbed my in-laws and stole valuables from their apartment.

They were ordered to lie on the ground while guns were pointed at them.

My father-in-law Danie van Schalkwyk was also bumped around.

Then they broke open the steel gate to our kitchen out of the kitchen with a shovel.

My wife Melanie fought back and threw the one robber with boiling water in the face.

When the steel gate broke open they assaulted her.

She screamed and called for help.

Two of her ribs are broken.

She was packed with a bunch of sticks.

She was also threatened with a firearm to the head.

While all these events were on, from her colleagues from SARS heard all that was happening because she was busy with a meeting on TEAMS.

They robbed us of everything cell phones, computers, jewelry, a tv and also other items.

My wife could call me on the cleaner’s cell phone which they could not get a hold of.

The robbers drove off in a white Renault.

I was busy preparing for a funeral that was supposed to start at 1pm at the church.

Melanie was in intensive care for 2 days because they were afraid that one of the broken ribs had penetrated the lung.

Melanie is still in the hospital and in a lot of pain.

My daughter Charissa Nel just showed up at the house after the events and rode in the ambulance with Mom Melanie.

I just want to thank my four children Willie P Trytsman & Charissa Trytsman and Jean-Pierrè Fourie & Annika Fourie for their help.

They came out straight to support us.

Willie Trytsman, my son-in-law, you are a star.

For a few days he’s been helping arrange everything including repairing everything.

We don’t know what we would have done without you.

Thank you also to our broker Pieter Rheeder who was on scene for hours to start arranging everything.

Melanie also gets a lot of support from her colleagues at SARS.

Thanks to everyone’s visits, calls and messages.

2 Armed guards guarded us for the first 36 hours because the robbers were out with our keys and remotes.

There is a lot of damage to and in our home.

All my external drives were also embezzled and stolen with 30 years of photos and documents.

Please say a prayer for us.

It is hell to go through these things.

Lord please have mercy on us.

Things are getting out of hand.
