KeymasterA British Airways (BA) captain has been held at gunpoint and stabbed in a TERRIFYING attack after going for a run between flights in Johannesburg.
THE BRITISH AIRWAYS PILOT WAS STABBED WHILE JOGGING
According to a report by Daily Mail, the pilot had gone jogging with a crew member during downtime while on a stopover in Johannesburg.It is believed they broke strict BA rules by leaving the security-approved compound which houses their crew hotel.
THE PILOT WENT JOGGING WITH A CREW MEMBER DURING DOWNTIME
An armed man pulled a gun out when he attacked them. He then stabbed the pilot in his thigh.The airline captain was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was given emergency medical attention.

The report furthermore said BA had instigated these rules and kept much of the South African city off limits during their crews’ downtime due to the notoriety of the crime in Johannesburg.The compound that houses the hotel is based in the Melrose Arch neighbourhood.
HE WAS RUSHED TO A NEARBY HOSPITAL FOR TREATMENT
It has been dubbed one of the safest places in Johannesburg. It is continually patrolled by security guards day and night.Earlier this year, Airlink and British Airways (BA) revealed news of a codeshare partnership between the two airlines which will offer more options and connectivity for BA passengers.
The agreement will essentially allow passengers travelling with BA to connect to their final destination on a single ticket to 18 destinations within Southern Africa, reports Travel News.
The 18 destinations will be available as codeshare options when travelling from Heathrow via Johannesburg and Cape Town, and tickets for this codeshare deal will be available to book from 15 February 2023.
