DA is going to file contempt charges against ANC over cadre records
PRETORIA. – The DA leader, John Steenhuisen, said he was going to file contempt charges against the ANC because they did not hand over the complete records of the cadre deployment committee to them.
He said the records they received this week lacked information, which is against the court order.
Steenhuisen added that there were no records of the cadre deployment committee from the period when Ramaphosa was its head. Ramaphosa headed the committee from December 2012 to 2017.
Steenhuisen also revealed that there were no WhatsApp messages or emails from Ramaphosa in the records they received.
He said they ordered the ANC to hand over all the records or they were going to charge the party with contempt of court with the aim of sending the ANC secretary, Fikile Mbalula, to prison.
The ANC responded by claiming they had handed over all the records they had to the DA as they were ordered to.
