Limpopo. -Devon Hofmeyr also surrendered himself to the Groblersdal police station yesterday, along with Willem Petzer and Tewie Wessels.
Nikita Joubert made a social media post on Hofmeyr’s Facebook page and said he was part of those who had to hand over themselves yesterday.
She later said with a follow -up placement that the bail application was postponed to February 15 due to load shedding. This is also when Francois van der Merwe’s case of assault and preventing police officers in the execution of their duties will appear again for his bail application.
Neil de Beer of the UIM says in a video message that the “Groblersdal situation” is monitored. The complaints against the three were allegedly incitement of public violence on the day at Groblersdal when Van der Merwe was arrested. According to the allegation, the three did not heed an order of the SAPS. However, De Beer makes it clear that he will not talk about the cases currently sub judice, but that it is about the legal right to receive bail. De Beer will be at Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
“Justice delayed is justice denied,” says De Beer .
News flash requested comments from the police on the matter. Col. Malesela Ledwaba referred to the NPA for comment. Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, the NPA spokeswoman in the province, then cannot comment on the main issue due to the involvement in the main issue.
“I can’t issue a statement in court for the main case.”

Case is postponed to the 15th of Feb. Unfortunately, Loadshedding was the problem today. Everyone’s mind is still strong and we know that these 3 are strong men.
We have courage and hope and pray for Thursday that they will allow bail. Thank you for assisting each and every one and support for Devon. We can’t ask for more.
