    Will Keys,

Donald J. Trump (“DJT”) has emerged from the first GOP primaries with a historically high margin of victory, as predicted. His homespun candour, political commonsense, and affinity with conservative voters are awe-inspiring. DJT invited the North Carolina GOP leadership to visit New Hampshire to support him, humorously stating something like “I’m kissing ass,” to which they responded accordingly. This proved embarrassing for Nikki Haley, the last standing opponent and ex-governor of North Carolina.

The mainstream media (“MSM”) meltdown after DJT’s Iowa primary victory was equally hysterical. The over-the-top and delusional comments by MSM anchors and stalwarts made it authentically ‘insane.’ References to ‘bloody murder’ were shocking but, akin to ‘Scare Tactics,’ very funny. One MSM commentator suggested DJT could “kill the first lady,” while another predicted genocide of all Democrats. Still, another suggested the USA would invade Canada, making these statements apocryphal and hilariously ludicrous. It looks like TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome) remains a wide-spread and infectious condition.

DJT went on to run the table, receiving the endorsement of all candidates forced out of the race by suspending their campaigns. Nevertheless, it is still too soon to count one’s chickens, but the eggs in the incubator are maturing as intended. If things continue as planned, DJT and the MAGA Movement will hopefully achieve a landslide victory on November 5, 2024.

At this juncture, it is appropriate to refer to the role that Stephen (Steve) Bannon has played in the MAGA Movement. Steve, a media executive, former merchant banker, and chief strategist in the DJT White House, is likely the smartest strategist in US politics. He chaired Breitbart News and served on the board of Cambridge Analytica. The ‘Deep State’ has tried desperately hard to hobble Steve, using the judiciary inappropriately, but fortunately, they failed. The relationship behind the scenes between DJT and Bannon has revived and grown stronger, making them better informed about the measures, methods, and practices of the intelligence services.

An interesting recent development is the reported swing away from their traditional Democratic base, of many black voters who now look likely to vote for Trump. With their help, we believe DJT is on his way to saving the USA from the abyss of Democrat destruction.

It is worth noting some of the greatest Americans, who happen to be black, were also conservatives. Martin Luther King, a Democrat in his day, was as conservative as conservatives are today. Economist Dr. Thomas Sowell leads the list of black intellectuals with gravitas, academic heft, and influence. It does no one any good to categorize and pigeonhole successful men by the colour of their skin.

United States Supreme Court (“SCOTUS”) Associate Justice Clarence Thomas has emerged as a man of historical importance. In my opinion, he has set an example of judicial jurisprudence, excellent judgment, and professionalism that is second to none. Confirmed in 1991, he described the process as “A high-tech lynching.” In 2018, at the confirmation hearing of Justice Brett Kavanaugh, the Democrat Party staged another ” high-tech lynching.” Fortunately, both justices survived their ordeal, but I have no doubt they have scars.

“The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice,” as Martin Luther King said. This arc was indeed the case for Clarence Thomas. Black Americans refused to see the beauty and magnificent strength of character in a man who set an intellectual standard for himself as a judge without regard to skin colour. Although he was a beneficiary of ‘affirmative action’’ (“AA”)  the quality of his judicial ethics opposed AA as a government policy.  AA is no longer legal as a government policy.

As a black letter jurisprudential contextualist, he read the Commerce Clause, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 3 of the Constitution down. This means federal agencies should have relatively restricted power, and it is the law today.

Justice Thomas insisted that the Second Amendment also be read contextually as originally intended, affirming individuals’ fundamental right to carry firearms, which is also now the law.

Abortion, not mentioned in the Constitution, and is a state matter. Roe v. Wade was reversed, and all abortion matters are now for the states to decide, it is the law.

My enormous respect for Justice Clarence Thomas is for his fidelity to the US Constitution and the law. He must have faced tremendous temptations to abandon his judicial principles and support bi-partisan ‘black issues’ outside the law, for his career image. He refused to bend and remained stoic and faithful to the law.

I conclude by recommending a discussion organized by the Manhattan Institute and monitored by Ilya Shapiro. The attendees were Prof. Glenn Loury of Brown University, Prof. Randall Kennedy of Harvard University, and Prof. Robert George of Princeton University.
