Heritage Protection Group (HPG) in Mokopane and Basoppa security were called out on the morning of 2 November 2022, to two cases of robbery on farms in the Kuschke area outside Polokwane in the Limpopo province of South Africa.
According to the farm workers, the door of the home was broken open with a axe, one attacker who was armed with a hand weapon handcuffed two workers to each other after which the attackers cut and ripped out all the power wires in the home.
The lights were removed from the roof and put in a backpack.
The inverter, solar panel and battery were also removed from the house.
The workers were ordered to help carry some of the items.
They then were taken to a second house that had already been raided.
The workers were then had to help carry the stolen items to the tar road.
The owner of the farm was on his way from his other farm to Polokwane when he noticed people on the farm road. He flashed his lights in their direction causing the attacker flee.
The farmer found the two workers with most of the stolen items.
SAPS Westenburg were contacted and on their arrival, the two workers’ handcuffs were unlocked.
There has been no arrest.
