A farm attack took place on 29 June 2023, at 20:00, on a small holding on the R102 road, outside George in the Western Cape province of South Africa.
Four attackers barged in through the front door and overpowered a couple while they were having dinner.
The balaclava clad attackers had bolt cutters and a crowbar.
The couple were assaulted, the man severely, then tied up and left in a bedroom while the attackers ransacked the home.
The man’s wife managed to get free and fled to the neighbours for assistance.
The attackers fled the scene with a number of household items.
The man, who was beaten over the head with a bolt cutter, was in a serious condition and was admitted to the intensive care unit at a George hospital.
His wife was also treated at the hospital for a broken arm.
All role players responded to assist.
The police are investigating but there have been no arrets.
