According to the victm’s wife, he was outside feeding the chickens when she heard him screaming for help. When she checked, she saw 2 suspects pulling the garden gate open. Mr Van Zyl tried to escape from them when they shot him.
The team on the ground reported he was in a bad condition, ambulance was on scene.
