A farm attack took place on 5 June 2023, at 06:45, on the farm Turslaagte, in the Schweizer-Reneke area, in the North West Province of South Africa.
The farmer had just left to collect workers when his wife (51) was overpowered and assaulted by two attackers who forced their way into the home.
The attackers were demanding access to the safe and during the assault the woman was struck over the head with an iron bar.
The woman was left laying on the floor while the attackers searched the home.
While they were occupied she managed to press the panic alarm and flee the home locking the attackers inside.
She then managed to make her way to the neighbors for help.
Local farmers responded with speed and as a result managed to track down one of the attackers in the veld.
The attacker was found with a number of robbed firearms. The other attacker is still at large.
The woman received stiches in her head.
