On 17 October it was reported that Gert Joubert (66) has sadly passed away in hospital after a violent farm attack which took place on Monday 10 October 2022, at 20:00, on the farm Groot Rietvlei in Laersdrif, North of Middelburg in the Limpopo province of South Africa.
Mrs. Sannie Luus (80), who lives on a part of the Groot Rietvlei farm her whole life, was in the farmhouse together with her brother Gert Joubert (66), who was visiting at the time.
Three Mozambican workers knocked on the front door and Mr. Joubert opened the door because he knew the Mozambicans work on the farm.
After Mr. Joubert opened the door, the workers attacked and overpowered him and dragged him inside.
The attackers chopped Mr. Joubert over the head with a panga and beat Mrs. Luus all over her body.
