Police have identified one of the two men who were killed in a furnace at a steel manufacturing plant in Coega.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says 48-year-old Liza Njamela from Gqeberha and a 39-year-old Indian national were killed in Tuesday’s accident.
She says the name of the second victim is being withheld as police cannot yet establish if his family members have been informed by the company.
Police and emergency services workers responded to the complaint at approximately 13:00.
Two other workers aged 38 and 49 sustained burn wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment.
An inquest docket has been launched for further investigation.
