FARM ATTACK
Farm attack: A 27-year-old suspect was arrested and an AK47 assault rifle was recovered following swift action and well-coordinated operation by members attached to Mokwakwaila Crime Prevention Unit and Tactical Response Team following a farm attack and house robbery that took place in Modjadjiskloof outside Tzaneen on Monday 17 October 2022 at about 13:00.
The victim was reportedly outside the house at Macnoon Estate and she reportedly went back into the house she found the door has been locked.
She then gained entry through another entrance into the house upon which she was allegedly accosted by an unknown attacker who pointed her with an Ak47 rifle, demanding the vehicle’s keys.
The suspect then drove off in the victim’s KIA Picando motor vehicle.
Police were notified and immediately responded. The vehicle matching the same description of the one that was robbed earlier, was spotted in Ramoroka village under Bolobedu policing area.
The vehicle was intercepted by police and the suspect was arrested.
Police then recovered the AK47 assault rifle.
The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has applauded the swift action of these members which led to the arrest of the suspect and recovery of the firearm.
Further investigation will be conducted to determine how the firearm, which belongs to the owner of the house, got stolen.
The suspect will appear in the Tzaneen Magistrate’s Court facing charges of house robbery and unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition.
