Former Pretoria doctor Lauren Dickason has been charged with the murder of her two-year-old twins, Karla and Maya, and her six-year-old, Liane, in their new home in New Zealand on September 16, 2021. The three children were suffocated by means of cable ties put around their necks.
The family recently arrived in Timaru, New Zealand, in August 2021 to start their new lives after Dickason’s husband, Graham Dickason, an orthopedic surgeon, got a job at Timaru Hospital. Dickason herself worked as a doctor in Pretoria before emigrating.
The trial began in the High Court in Christchurch and is being presided over by Justice Cameron Mander, a court spokesman said.
