Trump Inauguration LIVE: Team Trump Holds 1st Bilateral With Jaishankar | Vantage with Palki SharmaAmerica’s new Secretary of State, Marco Rubio was sworn in yesterday, after which he engaged with the Quad leaders. Rubio held his first bilateral meeting with the Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. In the meeting, Rubio flagged the issue of illegal migration with Jaishankar as large number of Indians have been trying to illegally enter the US. Reportedly, India is planning to take back 18,000 illegal migrants. New Delhi’s response comes as the fate of H-1B visas hangs in the balance with Trump’s return to power. Indians are the top beneficiaries of these visas. Though, Trump has time and again reiterated his support for H-1B visas, his recent decision to cancel birthright citizenship has sparked concerns among the migrant population in the country.
