North West. Rasta Kenosi, 37, appeared in the Ganyesa Magistrate’s Court on a charge of malicious damage to the Ganyesa Magistrate’s Court yesterday. His bail application was unsuccessful.

Kenosi’s defense team argued that he was “truly sick” and should be granted bail because he has three children he cares for.

The charge stems from an incident that allegedly took place in Boshoek, where a security vehicle was bumped from behind and stoned with stones. Kenosi also allegedly knocked out a security vehicle’s windshield with others.

Peter Sitho, social and farm murder activist present at the court welcomed the verdict. He says he will continue to fight for awareness of crime in the agricultural sector.

According to Agri North West, the crime situation in the Ganyesa district goes far further than 2022. “Many of the fanfare meetings were held many times … but no lasting or significant results were achieved with investigations.” Once again, they emphasized that the crime struggle should not be an individual struggle, but rather a joint community effort. “Because every environment has its ‘rasta’.”

Rasta Kenosi will appear in court again on Friday, January 26, 2024.
