After a series of disappearances of women and murders in Bloemfontein, residents fear that a syndicate or serial killer is loose.
Some of the incidents include the murder of Jessie Michael, a social worker whose body was found near the Kalkfontein Dam.
Sibongile Portia Ngwana was last seen in Bochabela on November 26. Refilwe Pitleli disappeared without a trace on December 12 when she went to fetch her report at school.
The 16-year-old Machaka Radebe’s body was found after she was kidnapped, assaulted and killed.
The Free State SAPS provincial spokesman, Brig. Matantsi Makhele, said the residents’ safety is in jeopardy. This is why they bring in the necessary resources and expertise to ensure that residents’ safety is a priority. They hope that the investigations will be successful soon, as there are still parents who are concerned about missing children.
