    South African man (34) killed in helicopter accident in DRC

    A 34-year-old South African man, Hein Heath, was killed in a helicopter accident in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

    A South African man and two other people were killed when a helicopter crashed in the Democratic Republic of the Congo earlier this week.
    THE SOUTH AFRICAN MAN WAS IDENTIFIED AS 34-YEAR-OLD HEIN HEATH
    According to a report by Maroela Media, the helicopter crashed in a Ravine on Monday.

    It is believed it crashed several minutes after it took off in bad weather from a mine at Kambovein in the Haut-Katanga province.
    THE ACCIDENT TOOK PLACE IN RAVINE EARLIER THIS WEEK
    A French pilot, a South African, and a Polish citizen died in the accident. The helicopter, which is owned by a cobalt and copper company called Boss Mining, was on its way to Kolwezi in the neighboring Lualaba province.
    The South African has since been identified as 34-year-old Hein Heath, a former pupil of the Brandwag High School in Kariega.
    HEIN IS FORMER PUPIL OF THE BRANDWAG SCHOOL IN KARIEGA
    Heath was associated with the G4S security company at the time of his death, having previously served in the French Foreign Legion.
    HE PREVIOUSLY SERVED IN THE FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION
    “We have no answers, please don’t ask questions [sic],” Susan Heath, Hein’s mother, said in a Facebook post with a photo of her son.

    “Rest in peace my dearest boy. So proud of you.”
