Suspended Public Protector, Advocate Busisiwe Mkhwebane, has released damning audio recordings of late ANC MP, Tina Joemat-Petterson, in conversation with her husband, David Skosana, in support of her claims of bribery and corruption within Parliament’s Section 194 Enquiry.
The impeachment enquiry is chaired by ANC MP, Qubudile Dyantyi, who was implicated by Mkhwebane along with ANC Chief Whip Pemmy Majodina in the bribery scandal.
Mkhwebane held a media briefing on Tuesday to inform the public of what she said was the biggest corruption scandal to hit the South African Parliament.
This comes just one day after a Parliamentary Committee issued a call for nominations for a candidate for appointment as the new Public Protector.
She accused President Cyril Ramaphosa of abusing his power and went as far as to implicate nine Constitutional Court Judges in her briefing.
She had earlier claimed that Joemat-Petterson had approached her husband for a R600 000 bribe to make the enquiry go away.
The former Cabinet member died at her home in Cape Town last week at the age of 59.
Her cause of death has never been disclosed to the public although it was widely speculated that she took her own life.
