Tina Joemat-Pettersson reportedly met with the Investigating Directorate (ID) to finalise an affidavit for the R280-million Estina dairy farm case just two days before her death.
JOEMAT-PETTERSON REPORTEDLY GAVE A STATEMENT JUST TWO DAYS BEFORE HER DEATH
According to a report by News24, she was minister of agriculture at the time when the Gupta-linked company scored almost R300 million from the Free State agriculture department for a disastrous dairy farming project in Vrede.
The report furthermore stated that the national agriculture department also contributed over R30 million to the project while Joemat-Pettersson was a minister but pulled the plug on funding in 2013.
THE INVESTIGATING DIRECTORATE (ID) HAS DENIED THE REPORTS
However, the ID has denied these reports and has said it is not dealing with any allegations involving complaints by suspended public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
The ID was reacting to a newspaper article that claimed Joemat-Pettersson was questioned by the ID last Saturday, two days before her death.
MKHWEBANE IS EXPECTED TO GIVE AN UPDATE ON TUESDAY
At the time of her death, Joemat-Pettersson faced extortion allegations from David Skosana, the husband of Mkhwebane. Before her death on Monday, the National Assembly had announced that the allegations would be investigated.
Meanwhile, Mkhwebane has announced she will host a media briefing in Johannesburg on Tuesday, where she will talk about the latest in the section 194 inquiry.
JOEMAT-PETTERSSON DIED AT HER CAPE TOWN HOUSE LAST WEEK
