It is with sadness that we learn that Chris Harmse, Head of the White Cross Monument has passed away.

White Cross Monument writes:
I am writing the message with ñ heavy heart tonight but still feel I must share my heart not only as associate board member of the White Cross Monument but as ñ very much after friend of the family.
My husband and I are currently with the family in Pietersburg to assist them during this sad time and help with the arrangements.
Chris’ written wish was to be buried and we would like to do it that way for him too.
But, unfortunately, no provision was made for his demise. Which means we can’t hit any rails yet.
We need to get funds together in ñ way to make this possible. That’s why I’m going to be honest.
The family lived from hand to mouth, keeping just barely afloat every day. As most people today do.
The man who made plans and had solutions is now gone. Too early too fast…
How are we going to do this? The Lord alone will show.
Life has taught me not to rely on people but on Him. The Lord does use people too. And both we and the family are grateful for every prayer and call we get.
On Monday we go to the vendor where Chris lies to take his clothes and see him ñ last time. And we believe and trust that the Lord will provide so that his funeral will take place this week.
We’re going to give that faith step. So that his family can get some respite and start picking up the pieces to put their life back together, even though that one piece will never be complete again.
I personally will be with the family as will Klaas Prinsloo until after the funeral.
Because when I needed him when my mother Lita Fourie’s passing, he was there for me. And more than ever, I wish I could bear all the costs personally to say thank you what he meant to me in the time we worked together.
There can never be ñ amount large enough.
