Tributes are pouring in for a well-known physiotherapist, Marolien Schmidt, who was stabbed to death in her home in Richmond Hill on Women’s Day.
The 40-year-old Schmidt was stabbed multiple times and died on her way to the hospital.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says at 1.40 am, neighbours heard glass breaking and the deceased screaming from her home in Sherlock Street.
Neighbours found her lying on the floor and rushed her to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Schmidt matriculated from Hoër Volkskool in Graaff-Reinet and obtained her qualification from Stellenbosch University in 2005.
The much-loved physical therapist ran her practice from Walmer.
It is not yet clear what was stolen and a case of murder is currently under investigation.
