The attack happened on Wednesday just after 17:00 on a farm that has been in her family for nearly a century.

Living alone on the ancestral farm where her parents were laid to rest, Prinsloo described her initial shock and subsequent moments of clarity as the attack unfolded.

“It dawned on me that it was a farm attack, that I might be killed. I managed to compose myself and realized that it was imperative to remain inconspicuous,”

    recounted Prinsloo.

SHE WAS ON HER WAY TO RELEASE HER PITBULL WHEN SHE WAS ATTACKED

Narrating the events that led to her terrifying ordeal, Prinsloo recounted the circumstances that led to the attack.

“I never imagined that such a thing could happen to me. On that Wednesday afternoon, I hurried home intending to release my dog, Dino, an aggressive pit bull, from his enclosure.

“In less than two minutes that it took for me to attend to Dino, they pounced on me.”

    Prinsloo said.

‘IN LESS THAN TWO MINUTES THAT IT TOOK ME TO GO TO MY PITBULL THEY POUNCED ON ME’

She said two men assaulted her using a crowbar, severely injuring her.

“The pain was excruciating, and for nearly twenty minutes, I struggled to comprehend the unfolding events.”

Prinsloo’s hands were tied using shoelaces in the kitchen, the attacker secured her feet with a belt from her dressing gown.

They also gagged her with rags and held knives against her throat. It was during this menacing encounter that they demanded money.

Despite not bringing money home from the shop that afternoon, Prinsloo recounted: “They rifled through my belongings, expressing anger and frustration when their search yielded no money.”

Amid the terror, Prinsloo shared the horrifying threat the attackers made against her life. “Their chilling words, ‘We are going to kill you,’ reverberated as the knives pressed against my throat.”

The situation escalated as the attackers forcibly placed a green-striped bag over her head, demanding valuables and access to a safe. They took her to her bedroom, where she was thrown onto the bed.

“The fear that gripped me during those moments is indescribable,” Prinsloo confessed.

As the assailants ransacked her residence, Prinsloo recalled seeking solace in prayer.

‘I PRAYED AND SEEKED HELP FROM JESUS.’

“I prayed for divine intervention, fervently seeking help from Jesus. Fortunately, they did not rape me.”

After some time, the assailants tossed a blanket onto the bed beside Prinsloo.

“I feared they might wrap me in that blanket, toss me into a vehicle, and drive away. The terror was paralysing.”

The attackers looted the house before they took off with her white Ford Ranger bakkie.

“Summoning courage, I attempted to free myself from captivity. I used my tongue to remove the gag and tried to open the back door, only to realise that the attackers had locked me inside. I had to resort to climbing out of a window.”

Upon escaping, Prinsloo reached out to her workers, who lived approximately 400 meters from her farmhouse.

She managed to contact both a friend and the police with the assistance of a worker’s mobile phone.

In collaboration with law enforcement, the Heritage Protection Group (HPG) traced the suspects until their trail went cold on a neighboring farm.

Prinsloo’s stolen vehicle, a white Ford Ranger bakkie, was discovered abandoned at a distance from the farm.

The green-striped bag and the hunting rifle were found near the abandoned vehicle.

NO ARRESTS HAVE REPORTEDLY BEEN MADE YET

Prinsloo urged others to keep a spare cheap mobile phone concealed in their homes.

“In the event of a similar situation, having a discreet means of calling for help could prove invaluable.”

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, the police spokesperson, told the media that no arrests have been made thus far. The investigation into the farm attack remains ongoing.
