Brigadier Jay Naicker, police spokesperson in KwaZulu-Natal, confirmed to AfriNUUS that the Nongoma SAPS is investigating a shooting that took place on Thursday evening.
“It is alleged that two people aged 63 and 33 were shot dead at Nongoma at 18:00 on Thursday. The circumstances surrounding the incident and the motive are still unknown.”
It was confirmed that Zulu prince Mbongiseni Milton Muntukaphiwana, a partner of King Misuzulu, and his bodyguard, had been shot dead.
He died at the scene while his bodyguard died on arrival at one of the hospitals in Nongoma.
