The ANC and EFF’s motions of no confidence in the Speaker, Gary van Niekerk, Mayor, Retief Odendaal, Deputy Mayor, Mkhuseli Jack, and Chief Whip, Bill Harington, of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro Council (NMBM) is nothing but an attempt to get their hands on the Metro Council’s money coffers.
The coalition government, of which the FF Plus is part, has been governing the Metro for the last seven months.
In this short period of time, much progress was made with the repair of 7 000 water leakages, 12 000 broken streetlights and 15 000 potholes, which the ANC and its partners failed to repair.
The ANC has proven that it is unable to successfully govern the Metro.
The Metro has been brought to its knees and was left with a legacy of a dysfunctional administration, crumbling infrastructure and poor service delivery.
The FF Plus will continue to fight for quality service delivery, and the loyal taxpayers of the NMBM.
The Metro’s residents do not deserve the ANC and its cohorts’ mismanagement.
