Could Eskom’s proposed stage 9 destroy South Africa’s entire retail system

The only option for large supermarkets to keep going with 12 hours without power each day would be diesel driven localised electricity generation. These exorbitant diesel costs could well result in the large supermarkets closing their doors. What then?
