The IEC in a cynical move to remove the smaller parties from the upcoming South African elections has demanded that any participating political party have sixteen thousand signatures before this Friday or they will be excluded. Neil de Beer, the UIMs President, has on social media suggested that his support amounts to not just tens but hundreds of thousands of supporters. In this video he pleads to those “supporters”, just 5,000 at the time of posting his video, sign the paper before this Friday – otherwise the UIM cannot participate in the election.
