Limpopo police warn against threats of shutdown circulating on social media

The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo has issued a stern warning against the dissemination of threats, regarding potential shutdowns circulating on social media platforms.

The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe is assuring the residents of Limpopo, particularly in the affected areas namely, Seshego, Mankweng, Lebowakgomo and Matlala that the SAPS is closely monitoring these developments and is on high alert for any eventualities that may arise on or before the date of Thursday, 04 April 2024.

The Provincial Commissioner and her management further encourage members of the community to continue with their normal duties without fear of being intimidated or attacked.

“Law enforcement agencies are prepared to deal decisively and harshly with any individuals found responsible for instigating or participating in activities aimed at disrupting public order and safety. The SAPS will utilize all available resources to maintain law and order and ensure the protection of citizens and property,” stated Lieutenant General Hadebe.

The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or threats to the nearest police station or through the SAPS emergency hotline.
