Centurion CERT-SA crew responded to a shooting incident at an agricultural research facility in Irene, Centurion.
A security officer in his 30s was shot in his face and sustained serious injuries.
The assailants were allegedly waiting outside the security guard room and shot the officer as he was exiting to go on his hourly patrol through the premises.
The officer was stabelised on scene and promtly transported to a level one trauma facility by Netcare911 Aeromedical Helicopter, in a critical but stable condition.
