The persistence of police members attached to Operation Restore, deployed in the Western Cape to combat crime, proved to be successful when they arrested four males and one female in two isolated incidents on charges of dealing in dagga and possession of drugs on Thursday, 30 March 2023.
The members followed up on information and proceeded to a house in Lily Kate Street, Bella Donna Estate in Blue Downs.
Upon entering the premises they saw two males who jumped through the windows. The police members gave chase and apprehended the two males and searched them, upon which they were found in possession of a consignment of dagga. When they searched the house they confiscated an undisclosed amount of cash and weighing equipment.
Three males and one female were arrested and detained on a charge of dealing in dagga.
Meanwhile the police contingent were busy with patrols in Leiden, Delft, when they approached a house in Verlorevlei Street. Upon searching the premises they confiscated a consignment of drugs, hidden in the garage.
They arrested and detained a 32-year-old male on a charge of possession of drugs.
Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Blue Downs and Bellville Magistrate’s court on the mentioned charges.
