“But he took his stand in the midst of the plot, defended it and struck the Philistines; and the LORD brought about a great victory.” (2 Sam 23:12)
A description of one of David’s mighty men – Shammah the son of Agee. What do we know about the man? Two things:
• He was one of David’s finest warriors
• He took his stand and defended
A great warrior must know where to hold his ground and not budge another inch. Compromise is great amongst friends, but it is deadly with an enemy… especially when the enemy is as deceptive and tricky as our enemy, Satan.
Don’t let your convictions turn into preferences.
If it is right – stand by it. If it is wrong – denounce it.
