Last night a farmer went out to switch of his generator after loadshedding at 21:00. When he went back into the house busy locking up the door he heard his wife scream and the small dog inside the house barking. He went to investigate and one of the suspects came down the passage with a shot gun. He manage to tackle the suspect and two more male suspects came out the room with knives againts his wife’s throught and told him to stand down.

He then saw that his wife life is in danger and stopped the fight and surrendered.
The suspects gained entry at the small bathroom window close to the main bedroom.
The 4 suspects tied him and his wife up with some fencing wire and they sustained some cuts and bruises on their arms.

The 4 suspects all wearing dark blue and black clothes with gloves and balaclavas demanded cash and firearms. They managed to get the safe keys from the farmer and took out his firearms from the safe as well as his 9mm pistol in the room. Suspects did not try and take anything else except firearms and bank cards and 4 cellphones.

The farmer did not have any cash with him so they then took the couple into town with the farmers farm work vehicle where they demanded his pin code and withdrew cash.

The suspects then took him on the passenger seat and his wife with 3 suspects on the back seat towards Nkandla on the R68. Between Nkandla and Melmoth the farmer and his wife was dropped in a ditch next to the road and suspects told them that now they are going to kill them. The suspects shot several shots around them and left them at the location just after 01:00 am according to the snipr camera.
