Police in Tzaneen have appealed for assistance from the public in locating a missing elderly man, Charles Daniel Tolmay, from Gladstone farm, Tarentaalrand in Tzaneen.
HOW LONG HAS THE ELDERLY MAN BEEN MISSING FOR
Tolmay has been missing since Thursday, 13 April 2023.
According to the information received by the police, the 76-year-old man was last seen by his daughter around midday when he went for a walk, however, he never returned home.
“An extensive search was conducted around the neighbourhood and surrounding villages as well as at friends and relatives without any success,” said police spokesperson Sergeant Maphure Manamela.

“He was wearing khaki shorts, a short-sleeved shirt and brown Vellies shoes at the time of his disappearance.”

Members of the public can also call the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or share the information via MySAPS App,“ Manamela further appealed.
    HOW TO REPORT SOMEONE MISSING
According to the South African Government, if someone close to you is missing, you should report it to the police as soon as you know they are missing. You do not need to wait for 24 hours.
You can contact the Bureau for Missing Persons to report a missing person or go to your nearest police station and report that the person is missing as soon as possible.
Take with you a recent photograph of the missing person so that it can be scanned into the National Bureau for Missing Persons database. This database is a Crime Stop project and police all over the country use it. Give any information that might help to identify the person, such as their age, height, hair colour, eye colour, and any identifying marks such as scars or tattoos. You may be asked to fill in forms giving all this information.
