Q&A.0140.THE BIBLE – WHAT IS…..ANGELS
Angels are “ministering spirits,” according to Hebrews 1:14, and their
primary purpose is to wait on God.
Angels were created prior to man’s existence (Job 38:4-7), and as supernatural beings,
they are far superior to you and me (Psa. 8:5).
All angels in the Bible are of the masculine gender, and none appear to have wings.
Not all angels belong to the Lord.
Some of the angels have fallen (Jude 6-7, Gen. 6:1-4, II Pet. 2:4),
and more will fall in the future (Rev. 12:4-9).
Even Satan himself can be transformed into an “angel of light,” according
to II Corinthians 11:14.
Therefore, we are told in I John 4:1 to TRY the spirits.
