    Dear Friends

Greetings in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

From the Frontline: the Power of Pentecost
You can tune in to the latest From the Frontline podcast on http://www.FrontlineMissionSA.org: 28 May is Pentecost Sunday. What is the significance of Pentecost? How is Pentecost Sunday relevant to the church today? What does the Bible teach concerning Spiritual warfare and spiritual weapons? What are we as Christians called to do when confronted by so much evil in the world today? We need Christians endued with supernatural power to win the spiritual war at present raging (Acts 1:8). There are far too many of our friends, families and churches that are being undermined, chained and crippled by the forces of evil (2 Corinthians 4:4). The time has come to rise up and go out in the power of God’s Spirit and annihilate wickedness and worldliness. We must set the prisoners free (Isaiah 61:1). We must win the victory (Romans 8:37). We must win our world for Jesus (1 John 5:4) and in the power of the Holy Spirit and in the Name of Jesus we shall, we must, we will prevail. In order to set free the prisoners of sin and satan the Lord has given believers power to bind evil (Matthew 12:19). We can restrict, limit and oppose the powers of rebellion, doubt, unbelief, sin, perversion, slavery and hatred (Matthew 18:18). We have power to overcome the gates of hell, to storm the very strongholds of evil (Matthew 16:18-19) and to set the prisoners free (Luke 11:22). To announce liberty to the captives (Luke 4:18). Even the demons must obey us when we give them a command in Jesus Name (Luke 10:17; Acts 16:18; Mark 16:17). This is because, as we place ourselves in submission to the power of God, we are able to resist the lesser power of the enemy (James 4:7). “Greater is Him who is in us, than him who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

Reformation Society: The Ascension and Authority of Christ
The neglected doctrine of Ascension is very relevant to the many problems and challenges confronting both church and society today. The Ascension deals with authority and we are living in an apostate age of antinomianism, hostility to the Law of God. It is essential that we understand, proclaim and practice the Ascension and authority of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and His Great Commission which he issued just before His Ascension. “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the Heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathise with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the Throne of Grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16

    Upcoming Events:
Lift Jesus Higher Ascension Day Outreach 18 May:
You are invited to join in an Ascension Day outreach to proclaim the Lordship of Christ in all areas of life and to lift Jesus higher. Please invite your friends, family, and your congregation, to join us on Ascension Day 18 May, from 11 AM to 1 PM as we will assemble at Buitengraght Street traffic island between the Cape Town International conference Centre and the entrance to the waterfront. The objective is to proclaim the Lordship of Christ on Ascension Day and to honour the King of all kings and the Lord of lords. “For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.” 1 Corinthians 15:25
At His Ascension, our Lord Jesus Christ issued the Great Commission commanding us to make disciples of all nations, teaching obedience to all things that he has command. Let us seek to do this on Ascension day, Thursday, 18 May. Ascension Day deals with authority. “All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore, Go and make Disciples of all nations… teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…” Matthew 28:18-20

Help The Reformation Society promote Reformation and Revival throughout Africa.
Since 2006 the Reformation society has been conducting regular, every Thursday night, Reformation society meetings in Cape Town, holding Reformation seminars and conferences, promoting Reformation day services and events, including Reformation Art and Essay competitions, Reformation variety concerts and home education events. The Reformation society has published the Greatest Century of Reformation book (including an updated and expanded edition), Reforming our Families, the Power of Prayer Handbook, Reformation 500 hymnbook and the Reformation 500 Coalition on Revival FIRE Manual donating thousands of these books to Bible colleges, Missions, ministries and Christian universities. The Reformation Society also published the 95 Theses for Reformation Today, translated into German, French, Dutch and Afrikaans and launched the Reformation 500 Back to the Bible movement, which led to Reformation 500 events in Zambia, United States of America, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany, culminating in Wittenberg October 2017. In the lead up to the Zwingli 500, marking the initiation of expository preaching (1st January 1519) we preached through every book of the Bible, publishing a series of the Bible in a nutshell in a popular local Christian magazine in South Africa and publishing the Old Testament Survey and New Testament Survey books. We also held Biblical Preaching Workshops and helped publish the Biblical Preaching Handbook. Our Reformation500 facebook page has also received a wide reach and many engagements as we promote Reformation doctrines and history and work for a fresh back to the Bible Reformation in churches, communities and throughout the continent of Africa. If you support this vision and work, please help us with the finances need to keep promoting Reformation Today through our public meetings, seminars, conferences and events and through publications, radio and TV interviews and programmes and through our Libraries for Pastors and Textbooks for Teachers programmes. https://www.givesendgo.com/reformation
