The Bible has an explanation for the universe, but so do Secular Humanists, Evolutionists, Marxists and New Agers. Each of these worldviews is founded on ideas. Ideas have far-reaching consequences. Those who understand the ideas that rule the world will have the opportunity to influence the world of ideas. “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.” Colossians 2:8

Reformation Society: Stanley and Livingstone
10 November marked the anniversary of the meeting of the extraordinary explorers Missionary David Livingstone and journalist Henry Morton Stanley. What can we learn from these very different men, their upbringing, characters, experiences and achievements? “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts.” Zechariah 4:6

Reformation Society: Through the Heart of Darkness with Henry Morton Stanley
If you live in Cape Town, please join us at the Reformation Society this Thursday evening, 17 November, at 18:00 for Supper and Fellowship and at 19:00 for a presentation on Henry Morton Stanley after his epic journey to find missionary Dr David Livingstone. Stanley became one of the greatest explorers of all time and one of the most effective campaigners against the slave trade. His 1874 to 1877 Trans Africa expedition down the Congo river was the most outstanding achievement against all odds and in the face of insurmountable obstacles, in all the history of the exploration of Africa. “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned and the flame shall not consume you.” Isaiah 43:2

For 32 years, we have been organising Biblical Worldview Summits to encourage, equip and empower Bible-believing Christians to understand the times and to know what God’s people should do (1 Chronicles 12:32). Light is more powerful than darkness. All the darkness cannot put out the smallest candle. Truth is more powerful than error and deception. Living as we do in a world of deception; it is vital that we know the truth and be committed to being truth-seekers and truth-tellers. Truth does not fear investigation. “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world and not according to Christ.” Colossians 2:8
