Police have just rescued an 8-year-old boy from a shack near Sydenham.
He was kidnapped after school yesterday.
The kidnappers had demanded R9000 from the family.
Working through the night, SAPS hostage negotiators, Inanda FCS, crime intelligence, provincial organised crime unit and the STF located the child and arrested two suspects.
The boy has been checked and is in good health. It’s also his birthday today.
The alleged kidnappers – a man and a woman – are expected in court soon….
