Shots fired during attempted hijacking in Trenance Park

A 25-year-old man sustained minor injuries during an attempted hijacking on Madrona Drive in Trenance Park – KZN.

On arrival, members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) met with the victim. He explained that he was topping up water bottles due to shedding in the area.

Seven unknown males approached him. Four suspects produced firearms and demanded keys to his Renault Kwid.

The driver threw the key into a bush without the suspects noticing. He informed them that the driver fled when he noticed them approaching.

They pistol whipped the man and asked him to lay on the ground. They fired multiple shots at driver’s window.

The robbers stole the driver’s cellphone which was in the car before they fled on foot.

Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search by no arrests were made.
