Tshwane Metro Police Department taxi unit members recovered a stolen vehicle on the R21

The Tshwane Metro Police Department members have been keeping criminals on their toes by constantly conducting daily operations and enhancing visibility, criminals have no place to hide.

On Monday 21 April 2024 the Tshwane Metro Police Taxi unit members were in their patrol duties when they received a complaint about a bakkie that was suspected to be hijacked on the R21 highway and Nelmaphius Drive.

The members swiftly reacted to the information provided and made a follow-up, while investigating, they spotted a suspicious white bakkie that fit the description provided. The driver of the white bakkie sped off upon discovering that he was sought. The TMPD members were in pursuit.

They managed to stop the bakkie on the R21 and N1 onramp. The bakkie had a trailer that was carrying suspected stolen stock (cows). One Mozambican foreign national was arrested and a case of possession of a stolen vehicle and suspicious stolen stock was opened.
